I am a new home builder; do I really need to merchandise my model home?
In our experience, we would most definitely say YES. Working in the builder-model-merchandising industry for over 15 years, we have seen that homes sell faster when there is an accompanying model to showcase the potentials of the house.

Most people want to physically visualize living in a home before they can visualize buying a home. They want to see if the house is a comfortable fit and contains functional living space for their families needs. It provides a way for your homes to directly and personally speak with your buying demographic and creates a greater opportunity for your house to make that most important "first impression" and eventual final sale.

I am on a tight budget, what can I expect from Innovative Spaces in terms of meeting my design needs?
Innovative Spaces is skilled at working within the parameters of a client's budget, no matter what the range. We haven't come across a client yet who hasn't had a guideline. We take strict measures to insure that we are on target and on time and work in conjunction with the client in the beginning to make sure that all expectations and goals are understood.

Do we really need to move furniture back in to our house to help it sell - doesn't that keep potential buyers from experiencing the full space of the home?
Yes, it's called staging a home. What sometimes happens when a home that is hard to sell, perhaps among other variables, is that buyers need to walk in and not only see the livable space, but they need to see that the space is livable. There is a difference. Some buyers have a hard time visualizing that a dining room table will fit or that a sofa can look nice in a small living room. Helping buyers visualize the potential of the home goes a long way in helping it sell.

For a small fee, Innovative Spaces will conduct an initial walk-through and help determine what your home needs. We will then put together an estimate and present to you a total cost-package for staging. We can advise on paint colors, artwork and furniture placement and finally, because we operate our own warehouse we can completely install and stage your home with the necessary merchandise.

My perception is that interior designers are only for "elite" people that can afford to design their homes - is this true?
This is a common misperception in our industry. Innovative Spaces feels that any size budget is deserving of qualified design expertise and talent. Making sure that you are hiring an experienced and reliable designer that respects your financial situation and overall design needs is one of the most important considerations in looking for an interior designer.

In truth, it's probably more economical to hire an interior designer than to outfit a home on your own. Working with an experienced design professional is beneficial in time and money. An interior designer can bring you better wholesale pricing on all merchandise; access to major furniture manufacturers; one-stop shopping approach for furniture, accessories, rugs, bedding, window treatments; and someone who is experienced and on hand to organize, advise and coordinate the entire project from start to finish.
